My Personal Style
I started my professional photography career back in 2004 by taking pictures of everything from commercial products to weddings. I settled in on children’s portraiture and found I have a true gift for capturing expression and personality. For me, children play a special role in my life since I was blessed with a “miracle” child back in 1995. Children are a special blessing and I have infinite patience when looking to capture their pure essence with photography. You could define my style as classic, elegant, playful and engaging. Children’s portraiture has been the lifeblood of my business since 2004, but since 2014, I have delved into the beauty market with glamour and boudoir photography for women. I bring the same style of classic, elegant, playful and engaging imagery to this genre as well. My passion for this style comes from my own deep seeded confidence issues. Growing up with a chip on my shoulder about my appearance and not feeling special, I was a late bloomer. My confidence came from my technical abilities and with that my beauty emerged. This taught me many things about who I was and what true beauty was. I learned that beauty was confidence and believing in yourself. What I discovered about Glamour and Boudoir photography is that women need to re-connect with this inner beauty at different times in their life for many different reasons. Whether it’s to celebrate a birthday, an anniversary, or an achievement, experiencing these sessions are a way to re-discover your confidence as women. What I learned from doing these sessions is that re-connecting with your femininity has a remarkably powerful and lasting effect on women. I love being able to offer this service and gift women this amazing feeling with beautiful images to remind themselves that they are powerful, they are beautiful, and they can do anything they set their minds out to do. Stepping outside your comfort zone and trusting in someone else is scary but it is also an opportunity to learn something more about yourself. What I have learned from doing these sessions is that being vulnerable is OK and life affirming and we all should do it more often.
